A Quickie and a miracle.

A lesson at Sketchbook Skool with Koosje Koene, klass 2 at semester 2 ‘seeing’ on drawing self-portraits and seeing shadows and shapes.

After I had spend the complete month of June with taking selfies with my iphone every day this assignment at Sketchbook Skool is a great sequel to the experiences. (Later I will tell more about this.)

For now I started with a “quickie” – this here is a selfportrait in the mirror drawn with pen in one line / without liftiging the pen from the paper once I have put it down. After that I colored it with watercolor pencil wash. That was fun!!

Nachdem ich einen ganzen Monat Juni damit verbracht habe, täglich eine Selbstportraits mit dem iPhone aufzunehmen, ist diese Aufgabe in der Sketchbook Skool eine großartige Fortsetzung dieser Erfahrung. (Ich erzähle später mehr davon).

Doch jetzt habe ich mit einem “Quickie” angefangen – diese Selbstportrait ist aus dem Spiegelbild mit Tinte in einer Linie gezeichnet bzw. in einer Linie ohne den Stift vom Papier zu nehmen, nachdem ich ihn erst mal aufgesetzt habe. Danach habe ich mit Aquarellstiften und Wasser koloriert. Das hat Spaß gemacht!!

I’m so exited. This one here I draw from a photo reference first looking at the negative space and then looking at the shadows. It is like a miracle how good this works. I like to show the process in the following little gallery.

Ich bin wirklich begeistert. Für diese Portrait habe ich eine Fotoreferenz genommen und erst nach dem negativen Raum und dann nach den Schatten geguckt. Es ist wie ein Wunder, wie gut das funktioniert. In der folgenden Gallerie zeige ich ein paar Fotos über den Aufbau der Zeichnung.

Goal is to get 2 quickies, 2 portraits from photo reference, 2 portraits from looking at the mirror and 1 portrait from memory. Let see how far I will get this week

Ziel ist es 2 Quickies, 2 Portraits von einer Fotoreferenz, 2 Portraits vor dem Spiegel und 1 Portrait aus der Erinnerung zu zeichnen. Mal schauen, wie weit ich in dieser Woche komme.
