A weekend on oil painting 22.-23.8.2015.
We were working with oil-based paint on canvas. Instead of turpentine we used not toxic linseed oil as painting medium. It is amazing to paint with oil because the paint doesn’t dry as quick as acrylic paint and you can mold the picture on the canvas over and over. My subject for the exercise was ‘nature’ – and I worked from a photo reference of a rose from my garden.
This finished picture looks much better when I turned it upside down.
And the next day I made a series of my subject and painted another rose. (But I had no good photos. So I can only show the finished painting)
Beautiful roses, Jutta! Wow!
